Education and the Complete Individual

Education is something that many have said much about. Most of these are complex or vague. Consider the Greek philosopher Aristotle's saying that education is ' an ornament in prosperity ' and ' a refugee in adversity '. There have been a great many attempts to explain this description, but none have quite succeeded in satisfying my curiosity. Alternately, this is what the English essayist Joseph Addison has to say on education: What sculpture is to a block of marble, education is to a human soul. This too, has a great many explanations and illustrations. But does it really tell us what education is? Does it tell us why we need education? Not really, since the concept of the soul is, till date, a shadowy area. So how can we begin to comprehend what everyone claims is essential to life nowdays? To put it simply, education is a process of training our mind so that we can apply it in a field of our choice: which is why we have education not as a single seamless entity, but as a whole made up of various divisions: music education, scientific and technological education, art education, even teacher education!

Education can be considered similar to picking and eating a fruit. Picking a particular fruit on the tree is akin to choosing a field to get an education of. When we bite into it, we get our first taste of the subject. As we chew on the bitten proportion, we begin to understand its various aspects – the tastes, textures, intricacies and complexes of it – and when we are ready to move on to the next portion, we swallow what we have assimilated so far so that it can be used for further application. The tree we get the fruit from is the entire body of past thinkers' teachings and the voice that tells us which fruit to pick is the interpreter of that knowledge: the teacher.

Through the lifelong course of education (no, it's not like school or college which ends after a fixed period of time), we get to know about things that always were, still are and always will be around us, waiting to be recognized and acknowledged . Light plays a central role in education – both literally and metaphorically – for visual inputs are the best learnt and without light – of the sun or electrical – we would be missing out on a whole world of knowledge. In fact, this is where phrases like 'light of knowledge', 'throw light on the matter', 'kept in the dark' and so on came from.

You might be thinking, how can we narrow the infinite field of knowledge to select what we will need or want to know? This is where the part on 'training the mind' comes in. The mind, as psychology tells us, is the center of cognitive institutions which enables consciousness, thinking, perception and judgment. Science Books and Documents of Aligarh Muslim University Get Translation in URDU

Science is now sharing a space with the Urdu speakers too. With the help of the former dean and adviser of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare how it got introduced has been discussed here.

The Aligarh Muslim University has launched the education sector after declaring the news of translating the science books.

Prof. Anis Ahmad Ansari, the faculty of Unani Medicine and former dean, the former adviser of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed the news stating that all the science related documents and books will be obtained under a quick translation and that too will be attained at a large scale. This is due to the fact that at a time too many Urdu speaking people can access the science sector without any hiccups.

In the First National Workshop, Prof Ansari was elected as the chief guest and was invited there for the valedictory assembly of the translation of Urdu of the Science Books. This program was held by Vigyan Prasar, undertaken by the Government of India under the Department of Science and Technology. The entire agenda was planned in collaboration with the Aligarh Muslim University's Center of Promotion of Science.

According to professor, people with Urdu as their native language do not have that scope to get as many as science related books in market whereas there are plenty of other Indian languages ‚Äč‚Äčavailable for such books. Thus for the sake of the Muslim brothers, the former dean came into such a plan and made it possible with his caliber.

His year's long research has enabled him in observing the fact that in every stream, mother tongue should be reflected as the medium of education. For the sake of the kids he pushed on the translators to make use of extremely simple and easy to read language in the translation.

In the workshop, Prof Ansari praised and congratulated each of the participants who took an active part in the translation program. Moreover he distributed credentials to contributors and the participants.

According to the director of the Center for Promotion of Science, the objective of Prof Ansari is to circulate the education of science even at its elementary levels and such advantage has been taken specifically for the Muslim Managed Education Institutions and the Deeni Madaris. The 1985 inception of the center has managed in providing training to the science tutors of the Madrasas. Such has even provided to be a boon for all the Muslim religion people who are into the center. As per his words science education is an important aspect that should come under everyone's concern and to make all the Muslim brothers and sisters educated science must be kept as an important stream within the national mainstream.
