College football schedule today: Full TV coverage for Week 7 Power 5, top 25 games

College football’s Week 7 schedule has only one ranked matchup but boy, is it a doozie.

No. 2 Alabama will host No. 3 Georgia at 8 p.m. on CBS this Saturday — the teams’ first regular-season meeting since 2015. The SEC’s final two undefeated teams will face off in a contrast of styles as the Crimson Tide relies on its prolific offense to overcome Georgia’s suffocating defense.

While that’s the only meeting of top-25 teams on Saturday, there are other intriguing matchups, including Louisville at No. 4 Notre Dame, LSU at No. 10 Florida and No. 5 North Carolina at Florida State.

Here’s the full college football Week 7 schedule for every Power 5 and top-25 team, including TV schedule, scores and how to watch every game live:

College football schedule 2020: The 28 games already postponed or canceled due to COVID-19

ncaa-football.jpg

With COVID-19 still raging across the country, it was long expected that many college football games would be postponed if not outright canceled over the course of the season. As we enter Week 5 of the 2020 season, there have now been 24 games affected by COVID-19 with most postponements coming as a result of contact tracing protocols that require players to quarantine for 14 days if they are deemed to have been in high-risk contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.

Some teams, such as Houston, Memphis, Baylor, FAU, Virginia Tech, Arkansas State, Charlotte and Rice have already experienced multiple game disruptions. Even those who have not seen a game postponed yet are living day-by-day as COVID-19 test results and subsequent contact tracing dictate if — and how effectively — they will be able to play as scheduled.

Some leagues, such as the Big 12 and SEC, have established minimum player thresholds requiring that teams have a certain number of players available at specific positions. The disruptions have highlighted the issues facing the 2020 season with two of the Power Five conferences (four overall) still yet to begin play. The SEC is scheduled to start on Sept. 26 with the Big Ten slated to return the weekend of Oct. 24 and the Pac-12 eyeing a return on Nov. 6.

The Big Ten and Pac-12 announced they plan to conduct daily testing, which should help programs identify positive cases quickly and reduce the burden of contact tracing. But even with daily testing, successfully holding a season with no bye weeks leading up to the College Football Playoff will be a challenge.

No. 7 Miami travels to face No. 1 Clemson in Death Valley on Saturday in a top-10 battle sure to have implications on the ACC title and College Football Playoff races. There wasn’t much hype for the Tigers-Hurricanes game when the schedule was released in the preseason, but the impressive start by UM has made this early-season showdown one of the biggest games of the year — not only in the ACC but in all of college football.

After all, the ACC doesn’t get a ton of matchups between teams ranked in the top 10. This is the first such game since the 2017 ACC Championship Game when Clemson beat Miami 38-3, and only the 17th meeting between AP top 10 teams in the ACC in the league’s history.

That adds an extra layer of intrigue to the perception portion of Saturday night’s events, as the quality not only of Clemson, the five-time ACC champs, and Miami, the most exciting 2020 contender so far, will carry implications that extend to the entire league.

There’s going to be a ton of talent on the field in Clemson with much of the nation’s eyes on the game. Let’s take a closer look at what to expect in this top-10 showdown as well as make some expert picks both straight up and against the spread.

Clemson: The events of last Saturday had so much for college football fans to digest that Clemson’s win against Virginia likely appeared routine and without worry or concern. After all, when eight ranked teams lose in the same day, there’s enough carnage around the country to focus on without getting distracted by a 41-23 Tigers victory. But in that game, we saw evidence of a Clemson team that is still very much rounding into form and far from the final product that we expect will be competing for a national championship. The defensive line is down multiple starters and the offense is still waiting for wide receivers not named Amari Rodgers to step up and help fill the absences of Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. It wouldn’t be a big deal most years, as Clemson has been known to plan its season to peak around championship time in December and January, but most years don’t feature a top-10 opponent in the fourth game of the season. The Tigers are being tested with a championship-like setting weeks before they are used to hitting that championship gear, and the results will be telling for what’s ahead — particularly with a date against Notre Dame in South Bend coming up in early November.

Miami: How will Miami stand up against the champs? The Hurricanes offense has thrived against UAB, Louisville and Florida State, but going head-to-head against Clemson’s talented front and the best defensive coordinator in football in Brent Venables is going to be a tough test for Rhett

College football scores, NCAA top 25 rankings, schedule, games today: No. 5 Notre Dame meets Florida State

Five of the seven top-10 teams in action on Saturday will be battling ranked foes as the college football season rolls on with some crucial conference matchups dotting the Week 6 slate. In total, 16 of the 19 ranked teams who have started their seasons will be in action during what figures to be another hectic day in the sport. The headliners are No. 1 Miami hosting No. 7 Clemson in the evening and No. 3 Georgia hosting No. 14 Tennessee for the SEC on CBS Game of the Week in the afternoon.

But the morning wave of games is loaded, too. No. 4 Florida plays at No. 21 Texas A&M in a critical game for a pair of third-year coaches looking to make a mark on the national scene. The ACC will also have a pair of ranked teams dueling in the early time slot as No. 8 North Carolina hosts No. 19 Virginia Tech in the toughest test yet for both teams.

There’s a lot to cover with those games and everything in between. CBS Sports will be here every step of the way to update you with the latest scores, highlights and storylines throughout the day. All times Eastern

2020 College Football Week 6 GameS

Know Arkansas vs Auburn Live Online Football 2020 Free .Each Friday, the Sports Illustrated-AllGators staff will provide predictions and pre-game analysis before the Florida Gators take on their weekly opponent.gfh

We have decided to tally prediction records as the season goes on. These are purely based on Gators’ win/loss predictions, and not factoring in the spread. With that, each of our contributors has gotten off to an undefeated start for the 2020 season.gf

This week, Florida heads to College Station, Texas this week for its first ranked matchup of the season. The No. 4 Gators will take on the No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday at noon, on ESPN. Despite being the toughest opponent of the year thus far, and going on the road, our staff is once again confident that the Gators will exit with a victory.fgh

Zach Goodall (2-0):

I think this game will be closer than some folks are letting on.

For one, a win against No. 4 Florida would be a massive tone-setter for Jimbo Fisher in his third year at Texas A&M, after what’s been a disappointing first two years of his 10-year, $75 million, fully guaranteed contract. Against what’s been a struggling defense to put it lightly, the Aggies are capable of putting up points.

Not as many as Florida, though. A&M’s defense has allowed nearly 10.5 yards per passing attempt as quarterbacks are completing 71.4% of their passes. Gators quarterback Kyle Trask and his expansive arsenal of weapons have to be licking their chops. Pick your poison: Kyle Pitts and/or Kadarius Toney have themselves a big day, depending on how much attention is put on Pitts by the Aggies’ defense.

Score: Florida 38, Texas A&M 33

Demetrius Harvey (2-0):

The Florida Gators will face a tough task this Saturday against the Texas A&M Aggies. A matchup that will ultimately be Florida’s toughest opponent thus far this season. The last time Florida faced off against Texas A&M was in 2017, a game in which came down to the wire. Ultimately, this game could come down to the wire too due to the explosiveness of the quarterbacks on both sides of the football, for different reasons.

The Gators will have a tough time containing veteran quarterback Kellen Mond, but will ultimately live by the arm of their own quarterback in Kyle Trask.

Score: Florida 42, Texas A&M 37

Graham Marsh (2-0):

I like a shootout here, Big-12 style. Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond has had his struggles, but he still threw for three touchdowns against Alabama this week while the Gators’ safety room is a massive concern.

Otherwise, Kyle Trask and Co. should have a huge day, huge enough to win a big game on the road. TAMU is young in the secondary and won’t be able to keep up with Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney, and Trevon Grimes all game long. I’m predicting a Big-12 style loss for the former Big-12 team.

Score: Florida 52, Texas

College Football Games To Watch: Week Six

Notre Dame gets back to action tonight at 7:30 PM (eastern) on NBC, but there will be plenty of action before kickoff to keep you busy.

There will be plenty of games to pay attention to throughout the day. Games that should be quite entertaining, and games that could end up being very important for Notre Dame by the time we get to the final College Football Playoff decisions.

Irish Breakdown already made predictions for two huge games that we’ll be watching today. You can see our analysis of #1 Clemson vs. #7 Miami HERE, and #22 Texas vs. Oklahoma HERE.

Here are the other games I’ll be paying attention to today:

#4 Florida Gators (2-0) at #21 Texas A&M Aggies (1-1)

Time: 12:00 PM (eastern)
TV: ESPN
Line: Florida -5.0

If Notre Dame wins the ACC outright the odds are strong they will be a College Football Playoff team. The Irish getting in should they lose the ACC title game will mean they’ll need a lot of help, especially from the SEC.

Florida has looked like a legitimate SEC East title contender thus far. The ideal scenario for Notre Dame is the two teams that square off in the SEC title game each have at least one loss. Florida begins a four-game stretch this weekend that includes this road game against the Aggies, a home game against LSU and a neutral field game against Georgia.

An ideal scenario for Notre Dame is that Florida loses a regular season game and then beats Georgia, who also loses to Alabama when they square off October 17. If Alabama then loses a game you’ll have at least a pair of one-loss teams playing in the SEC title game.

Texas A&M is one team with a chance to beat Florida, but they’ll have to play a whole lot better than they did last weekend when they got crushed by Alabama. The Aggie defense needs to quickly recover against a Florida offense that is averaging 44.5 points and 495 yards per game in wins over Ole Miss and South Carolina.

#19 Virginia Tech Hokies (2-0) at #8 North Carolina Tar Heels (2-0)

Time: 12:00 PM (eastern)
TV: ABC
Line: UNC -3.0

Virginia Tech is undefeated and putting up pretty good numbers on offense, but it’s strange watching them because they don’t look overly impressive. Then you look at the stat sheet and they’ve scored a lot of points and racked up a lot of yards.

Despite its quarterbacks completing just 47.6% of their passes through two games the Hokies are averaging 41.5 points after opening the season with wins over NC State (45-24) and Duke (38-31). Virginia Tech’s ground attack has been punishing, going for 314 yards in the win over the Wolfpack and 324 yards in the win over Duke.

North Carolina hasn’t looked like a Top 10 team in either of its two wins to start the season, but the
