There is very little in aviation mechanics which can be studied online, as you need to have access to actual machinery and to practice physical repairs on it. Some of the theory parts can be studied online, but you really need to have access to a local course to make this work. If not, your local college campus may well have something for you.

These internal schools have several advantages, the most important being that the tutors know exactly what the company is looking for from their mechanics. You should be in a better position to start working once you have completed the course than someone coming in from outside who would need to learn the individual company characteristics.
